January 2010 Kumbha Yoga creates festivities, a Long Eclipse in Capricorn on 15 Jan plus Good News for Cancer and Capricorn
January starts with the auspicious Kumbha Yoga which celebrates the finding of the Amrita, the nectar of immortality. The main lesson of this yoga is how e can harness the negative forces within us in order to find the divine reality where there is olny peace and happiness. Makara Sankranti starts off the festivities and then they remain in place for the remaining part of Jupiter in Aquarius transit till 30 May. Kumbha Yoga takes places every 12 years when Jupiter is in Aquarius and it is also celebrated when Jupiter is in other fixed signs (Taurus, Leo and Scorpio). There are special times to take a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges or one can do inner meditation and dip our soul into the holiness of the divine spirituality and cleanse it within. These are very special times and knowing the dates is important so that you can focus your own spiritual practice at this time. Mars remains retrograde, Mercury goes direct on 15 Jan and Saturns turns retrograde on 13 Jan. There is a very auspicious Adhi and Subha akrtari yogas by transit from 13 Jan to 5 feb which will help Cancer and Capricorn. Mars's long retrograde continues to show up the weakness of the Defence Services. The botched bombing of the Christmas Flight revealed the weakness of CIA. I feel that it is Christmas that saved the people. As the rare Retrograde and conjunction of Mercury Rahu taking place on 26 December and if this event had happened on that day- the situation could not have been contained. But the blessings of the higher forces help save so many lives were saved and there were no difficult conjunctions on Christmas day to support such negative activity but the Mercury Rahu revealed the weakness of the CIA but also weakness within the Terrorists. As Rahu Transits through Sagittarius and the eclipses happen there, it will shift the equation in the religious fervor and the way terrorism develops.
Eclipse of 15 Jan 2010
The Solar Eclipse is an annuallar eclipse and it coincides with the New moon in Capricorn. This eclipse in not visible in USA or Europe. It begins from Uganda, Somalia and passes through Maldives where the eclipse is at its greatest and then crosses through the southern tip of India, noth of Sri lanka and through Burma into the Chinese province of Yunnan and Sichuan provinces Chongqing lies directly on the central line and witnesses a duration of 7 minutes 50 seconds with the Sun 15° above the horizon. Racing through parts of Shaanxi and Hubei provinces, the antumbra's speed increases as the duration decreases. In its final moments, the antumbra travels down the Shandong Peninsula and leaves Earth's surface (08:59 UT). All this info is from the NASA Eclipse page. The instant of greatest eclipse occurs at 07:06:33 UT when the eclipse magnitude will reach 0.9190. At this instant, the duration of annularity is 11 minutes 8 seconds, the path width is 333 kilometers and the Sun is 66° above the flat horizon formed by the open ocean. Such a long annular duration will not be exceeded for over 1000 years (3043 Dec 23). This eclipse takes place in 1 deg Capricorn - if your ascendant is here, this indicates major changes for you. Capricorn deals with finances and government organisations. These can be effected. As this is close to President Obama's Ascendant, it means he will be in charge of some major changes and USA will also undergo transformations. Eclipses indicate changes but these can be positive as well. As the eclipse last for 11 years , 1 deg Capricorn remains sensitive for 11 years. Maldives is the main country effected by this eclipse and the country is suffering from rising sea levels due to Global warming- this could mean that the threat is real. Also it is possible to have earthquakes in the region where the eciplse path is. Usually earthquakes take place just before or after the eclipses.
The main plus point of this eclipse is that it is flanked by two benefics, mercury in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Aquarius- therefore the extreme aspects of this eclipse will be controlled. Also this is the time of Kumbha Yoga where millions of people will be taking the holy dip to mitigate the efect of this eclipse and this positive energy should effect others. When Venus moves into Capricorn it creates a transit Adhi yoga as Mercury is in Sagittarius and Jupiter is in Aquarius. This is extremely good for Cancer Ascendants and Moons. You can also study in your chart what house Cancer rules, that houses gets energised. e.g. for Pisces Lagna Cancer is the 5th house- so they can get good news regarding children, creativity, luck and higher knowledge.
