A great course for those wanting to learn the fundamentals of Vedic Astrology.
This course will use the personal chart as a tool to understand Vedic Astrology. You will not only gain knowledge about Vedic Astrology but also understand yourself and your birth chart better.  Comprehensive notes will accompany the course.
Syllabus
4 October 2008
10am to 11.15 overview of the Vedic chart and philosophy, karma and past lives, the gunas and the four aims of life- Dharma, Artha, Kama and moksha
11.45 to 1pm The Nava Grahas, the nine Planets. Planets are our energy and their position at birth gives the strengths and weaknesses of the individual. The Grahas (Planets) Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Mithun, Guru, Shukra and Shani -The Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn. Rahu Ketu, the Shadow planets.
1pm to 2pm lunch
2pm to 3.15pm  The Rashis ( Zodiac signs). Mesha ( Aries) to Mina ( Pisces). The solar division of the zodiac.
3.45pm to 5pm The Bhava Chakra- the twelve houses of the zodiac. The karakas (significators), the meanings, the rulers of each house. How the placement of house rulers effect the chart. Lagna and 1st to 12th houses.

10am to 11.15 the Nakshatras - the Indian lunar Zodiac. The 27 Nakshatras - the myths, the symbols, deities, mythology etc. How our mind effects the quality of our life. All the nakshatras will be explored from Ashwini to Revati. Nakshatras are the most ancient part of Vedic Astrology, their understanding is the key of interpreating the vedic chart.
11.45 to 1pm Timing of life through  the Vimshottari Dasha system- the unique predictive system of Vedic astrology based on the Nakshatras. How the chart expresses itself is controlled by the dashas we experience in life
1pm to 2pm lunch
2pm to 3.15pm Gochara, the transits, Saturn's sade sati and other tough transits, jupiter's good transits, daily, monthly, yearly movement of the planets and how they effect. Transits will influence the dashas
3.15pm to 5pm - Chart analysis, putting it all together
