The Kuta System in Relationship Compatibility - Part five of nine on Kutas 6/9

Rashi Kuta - Emotional Connections Guna 7

Rasi kuta is the emotional compatibility of two relationships that leads to prosperity, growth and happiness within marriage. Rashi is the Moon sign and how the Moon relate to each other is vital. This Kuta has very high points so judging this properly is very important. Also there are cancellations for both positive and negative compatibility. The key is in understanding the natural planetary friendships and if the Moon lords are friendly to each other or the same, many emotional issues can be overirdden or understood.

Janma rashi is the sign where the Moon is birth. Rasi Kuta compares the relative positions of the Moon signs.

There appears to be a conflict between information of this compatibility given in Dr. B V Raman’s book Muhurta and Muhurta Chintamani. The main disagreement is regarding the 6th and 8th placement from each other of the Moon signs. E.g. the woman’s Moon is in Virgo and the Man’s is in Aries, then according you Dr. Raman the marriage will prosper. Whereas if Virgo Moon Woman marries Aquarius Moon Man- where the Moon is in the 6th house, then it will create problems with the relationship and its well being. Muhurtha Chintamani disagrees as it feels that both positions are negative, as shastashtaka (-6th – 8th) positions are classically considered very negative. There is a cancellation of this dosha if the two rashi lords are friends. Personally I agree with Muhurtha Chintamani as experience shows that people with their Moons in 6th or 8th house from each other do not understand the emotional needs of their partners. Of course if these lords are friends, they are in a better position to improve these misunderstanding.

2nd and 12th position from each other is considered a position of loss. This usually shows a complete lack of understanding what the other person wants emotionally but it can also lead to financial losses.

Moon in 1 and 7th house from each other is ideal as the other person is reflecting the relationship needs of another person. Cancer Capricorn and Leo Aquarius are the only exceptions as their lords are inimical to each other.

4th and 10th from each other is also very positive. Even here if the lords are inimical from each other in the natural planetary relationship, the combination does not work.

For true emotional compatibility, the Moon of the Woman should be ahead of the Man’s. Man can see and understand the Woman's emotional needs. A Leo Moon Woman does well with a Taurus Moon man as the Man can see the Moon or emotional requirements of the Women and support her. Whereas Scorpio Moon Man will not understand the needs of the Leo Moon Woman.

One of the important aspects of this kuta is to study Vashya, Nakshatra and Graha Maitri Kutas- either of them are strong then it can override any negativity in this compatibility. If the lords of the rashis are the same or friends with each other then any problem arising from lack of compatibility can be sorted out. If there is Vaishya- attraction between the couples or the Tara bala is strong then the negativity of this kuta is largely removed. But if the rashi position is negative and the lords are also inimical, then there can be great problems. Firstly with fulfilling the emotional needs of each other and secondly with prosperity and success of the marriage.

As this kuta has the second highest points, analysing this is essential but do not forget to study the cancellations as they can take away the sting from the lack of compatibility.
