| The Kuta System in Relationship Compatibility - Part one of nine on Kutas 2/9 |

| Vashya Kuta Total Gunas - 2 |
| Vashya means attraction and this compatibility deals with understanding the mutual attraction and magnetic connections between couples. This attraction will indicate their ability to influence each other subtly. If they are attracted to each other on the sublte level, they are able to deal with the challenges life offers them. I have noticed if there is no vashya between couple, their relationship can break at the first sign of trouble. There is nothing to bind them together. |
| Attractions may vary. Male may be attracted to the female but the female attraction is not there. Mutual attraction is essential but not always possible. Usually relationship charts are seen from a woman’s perspective, therefore it is important that the women excercises the influence on the Man and so that he will honour and nurture his relationship. If he is not, then he can move away and not be too bothered. |
| There are five types of classification of Rashis/Moon signs. |
| 1. Chatuspada or quadruped - Aries, Taurus, latter half of Sagittarius and first half of Capricorn. The quadruped signs are more sensual and earthy by nature. |
| 2. Nara or Man - Gemini, Virgo, Libra and first half of Sagittarius. These are human in their feelings and attractions. |
| 3. Jalachara or moving in water - Cancer, second half of Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, they are more emotional and soft in their behaviour |
| 4. Keeta or insect – Scorpio. Insect can hover and not always settle down in a relationship. They want to taste many flowers but may not want to settle down. |
| 5. Bana chara or roaming in Forests – Leo. Moon in Leo forms relationships in different ways to the other Moon signs. This is very important when analysing Leo Moon. As a Bana chara, they are wanderers by nature, they do not like to be too strongly attached to one person. So a good relationship with Leo moon needs to have some flexibility where they are allowed their freedom. They are usually are attracted the watery signs or other Leo Moon. |
| Each of these signs classifications deal with other signs on friendly, inimical or experiential way. This reflects in the Kutas they receive from each other. |

| See the Female vashya vertically and the male horizonatally. If the women has chatuspada and the man is Bana, you can see that they have 0 Kuta- hence the women cast no magnetic influence over the man. |

| From the above grid, it appears that only Cancer and Scorpio Moon’s are mutually attracted to each other and therefore are able to be in complete Vashya. Otherwise one person may exercise more magnetic appeal, therefore more control over the other. |
Vashya is a complicated compatibility that appears to reflect life; we are not attracted in the same way to our partners. Each feels differently to the other. But if we are to truly understand the rules of attraction, we should understand the qualities of the Moon signs e.g. Bana chara, Chatuspada etc. This gives clues to their personalities and even if there is not full Vashya compatibility we are able to understand what motivates our loved one. Bana chara have a need to be free so if we try to restrict the Leo Moon, it is not always possible to keep them by our sides. Aries Moon that has a direct influence and perfect Vashya or magnetic attraction with Leo are a four footed signs. Animal type people tend to also roam and Aries has an adventurous nature that forms a perfect attraction with Leo. |
