The Kuta System in Relationship Compatibility - Part eight of nine on Kutas 8/9

The Non Scoring Kutas
There are four kutas that are do not have any scores to them. They are studied as additional information for compatibility. These are Mahendra, Stree- Deergha, Vedha and Rajju.
Mahendra
Mahendra is a Puranic mountain whose deity worships Kubera, the god of wealth. This kuta highlights material wealth of the couple. Can they be rich, prosperous and comfortable? This takes into account the artha part of the couple’s compatibility. If financial success is important to you, then this kuta compatibility should not be ignored. It is important to note that people can be wealthy and successful without this kuta too. But obviously if there is Mahendra compatibility, the couple can become very wealthy together and they can also have same attitude towards wealth creation. In this kuta, the wealth is financial and not spiritual.
The Male nakshatra should be 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 16th, 22nd or 25th from the female, then Mahendra kuta is there. Otherwise the special wealth creating compatibility is absent.
If female Nakshatra is Rohini, then she will have Mahendra Kuta with males with Moon in the Nakshatra of Punarvasu, Magha, Hasta, Vishakha, Mula, Shravana, Purva Bhadrapada and Ashwini.
If this compatibility is absent in a relationship, it does not mean that you will not create wealth but could indicate that couples may not be focusing on this aspect of their relationship.
| Note: In counting the birth Nakshatra is always counted as 1.

Stree-Deergha
Stree-Deergha means long womanhood and is looked at for long marriage, good companionship and woman’s happiness. This kuta gives lasting relationships where the couples also enjoy rapport and togetherness. It also indicates a woman who will not become a widow. This was very important as the woman without her husband was considered without protection. Even now, it is good to have this compatibility as it shows longevity of the husband. |
The Nakshatra of the male should be 9th or beyond from the female nakshatra. This indicates that relationship works well if they are experiencing different pariyaya or cycles of the Nakshatras.
If the female Nakshatra is Magha, then the male should be Mula and beyond.

Vedha and Rajju will be posted in August 2007
