| This kuta looks at the natural friendships between planets ruling the Rashis. Rashi are the signs where the natal Moon is situated. How the Moon rashis relate to eachother shows the ability for a couple to be friends with each other. Friendship forms and important part of overall harmony. If we can be friends with our partners, lots of issues can be discussed amicably. this is why this kuta has high marks of 5 gunas. |

| Planets relate to each other like humans. They can feel friendly towards each other or be inimical. If their feelings are mixed, then the relationship is known as neutral- good at times and troublesome at others. A neutral relationship veers between compatibility and lack of it, the overall impact being neutral. Each planet has friendship, enmity or a neutral relationship with other planets. The rulers of the signs, which are 2nd, 4th, 5th 8th, 9th, and 12th from the Mooltrikona sign of the planets are his friends. Rulers of the signs other than the above are enemies. In
Case of planets ruling more than one sign if they have a friendly as well as an inimical relationship become neutrals.
Rahu ketu have their own relationships but these are not generally used for Graha Maitri compatibility. |

| Here it is also important to understand that one planet may be friendly towards the other whereas the other may be inimical and this can create real problems in relationships. Moon is friendly or neutral to all planets but Mercury, Venus and Saturn are inimical to the Moon. In a relationship between Cancer Moon and Virgo Moon - Cancer will love the Virgo more easily whereas Virgo finds the sensitive emotional Moon difficult to handle. |
